Rating: Three shoggoths out of five

Nutshell: This brief work is more about the description of visions than a plot of any sort.

Commentary: This is one of Lovecraft's best descriptions of a dream-world, featuring ripe imagery that in other hands would be a beautiful night scene. Instead, Lovecraft turns it into a nightmare. Very odd.
