Rating: Three shoggoths out of five

Nutshell: A Yuletide visitor to a town named Kingsport finds himself led into the midst of an ancient, unnatural festival.

Commentary: This tale visits the common Lovecraft theme of "bad blolod", in which a decendent whose ancestors have dabbled in the occult also gets sucked in because of his unfortunate heredity. Though it is not one of his strongest pieces, it is nevertheless a decent diversion.
