Rating: Three shoggoths out of five

Nutshell: A young man finds a copy of the Necronomicon in a bookshop and enlists in the help of an insane scholar to help decipher it.

Commentary: This unfinished tale never progressed beyond a couple pages (it exists only as a fragment), but it is worth a look, especially since many of its elements are seen in so many of Lovecraft's finished works.
